For the latest update on the Texas Winter Trout Stocking Schedule, see the link posted on Texas Parks and Wildlife's website. Also, for easier reference - see link "Modified Schedule", we sorted the schedule posted on 23 November by data and location. Do check it out as well!

Moreover, if larger trout are the goal, do plan a fishing trip to Oklahoma's Blue River and/or Medicine Park; trout stockings are happening weekly and biweekly, respectively until March 2017!

PS: Do check out Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation's (OWDC) Trout Information site for more info on other areas stocked by the ODWC. Also, when harvesting trout, be sure to have a tag attached to your stringer or risk being fined. The tag will have your name and Oklahoma Fishing License Number.

For those fishing in Texas, "Trout anglers will need the $5 Freshwater Fishing Stamp, which is included in all freshwater license packages. Anglers under 17 years of age are not required to have a license and don't need to purchase a stamp." Retrieved from http://tpwd.texas.gov/fishboat/fish/management/stocking/trout_stocking.phtml

"Pictures from the Trinity"

Guadalupe River in the Texas Hill Country has always been a favorite of the Field Team. Multiple stockings augmented by some Bruiser trout provided for by the local chapter of Trout Unlimited make for a great opportunity for trout fishermen! Below are videos from past trips to the Guadalupe!

Trinity River in Fort Worth is stocked by Texas Parks and Wildlife as well as the Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD). This Season four trout stockings are planned! The first is scheduled for 15 December and will be stocked by TRWD which means you can expect some Bruiser trout! Going on their 30th year of stocking the Trinity, do keep this on the list to fish this Season!

VIDEO OF INTEREST

Brazos River by the Highway 16 Bridge received its trout stocking earlier this month with follow-on stockings planned in December and into next year! The Field Team had the opportunity to fish it earlier this year. Great place with a chance at trout as well as Striped Bass, too!
